British HC second political Secretary calls on Jamaat-e-Islami leaders


Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali, Asif Luqman Qazi discuss crisis in Afghanistan & HR violations in Indian occupied Kashmir with Dr Camila Macdonald

ISLAMABAD, Jan 12 (SABAH): British High Commission Second Political Secretary Dr Camila Macdonald called on Jamaat-e-Islami MNA Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali and JI Foreign Affairs Department Director Asif Luqman Qazi in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Both sides discussed the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir, according to a press release issued from JI headquarters Mansoora.

Qazi pointed out that international community should fulfil its responsibility to help Afghan people on the humanitarian basis. He said the improvement human and women rights situation in the war-ravaged country was only possible if the world extended helping hand to bring betterment in the economy of Afghanistan. He said Afghan people have their own traditions and norms and world must give space and respect to those values. 

About Kashmir, the JI director said the India had violated the international laws and treaties to revoke the special status of occupied valley. He said India must come to the table and end human rights abuses in the occupied area. He said the international powers should revisit their dual standard on the issues of Kashmir and Palestine.

Dr Macdonald the British government would help the Afghan people on humanitarian ground as per country’s law and obligations.
