BISP introducing new cash disbursement mechanism through individual Bank account of the beneficiary: Faisal Karim Kundi


ISLAMABAD, Jan 20 (SABAH): Fasial Karim Kundi, SAPM/MOS on Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety said that Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) is introducing new cash disbursement mechanism through individual Bank account of the beneficiary. He stated that this initiative is a vital step towards financial autonomy of the women.

This Faisal Karim Kundi stated while appraising a women delegation from Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa on various initiative of BISP. The delegations were lead by Senator Ms. Rubina Khalid, comprised women from different walks of life. Kundi informed the delegation that BISP’s cash disbursement mechanism is digitized and transparent and constant efforts are being made to make it more users friendly and modern. He further informed that BISP is also initiating dynamic registry survey soon to assess the socio-economic status of households on real time basis. He said that new Dynamic Registry data will have the capacity to incorporate changes that occurred in the socio economic situation of a household. Dynamic Registry desks have been established all across the country to process the new survey of the households, he continued.

Minister of State Faisal Karim Kundi highlighted that more than 8 million households have benefited so far from BISP various initiatives which include Benazir Kafalat Programme, Benzir Naushonama Program, Taleemi Wazaif and Undergraduate Scholarship Programmes. While responding to the queries of the members of visiting delegation he informed them that beneficiary in KP, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir can withdraw their cash from Bank Al-Falah while in the rest of the country Habib Bank Limited (HBL) disburses the cash to beneficiaries.
