Biden administration needed to consider ground realities with respect to solution of Occupied Kashmir issue: Syed Salahuddin

MUZAFFARABAD, June 26 (SABAH): Hizbul Mujahideen chief and Muttahida Jihad Council Chairman Syed Salahuddin while strongly condemning Modi-Biden’s joint statement has appealed to Biden administration to consider ground realities with respect to solution of Occupied Kashmir issue in the light of United Nations resolutions as well as aspirations of Kashmiri people.

Syed Salahuddin stressed upon the Biden administration to play its part in resolution of Kashmir dispute while considering the ground realities as biased and prejudice-based approach will dent international image of the United States of America as well as it was happening. He also emphasized the government of Pakistan to put aside coward attitude in connection with Kashmir issue and take it up at political and diplomatic fronts.

He further said that Kashmiri people were justified in saying, “Had rulers of Pakistan taken up the Kashmir dispute in front of the world rigorously and forcefully, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi would have not dared to do so.”

Syed Salahuddin said that the US President Joe Biden perhaps had forgotten that this was the very Narendra Modi whose entry was banned by the government of the USA in 2005 while cancelling his visa.

Hizbul Mujahideen chief said that this was the very Narendra Modi that anti-Muslims riots occurred when he was chief minister of Gujrat wherein hundreds of individuals had been killed while majority of them were Muslims. “This was when he was the chief minister and now that he is the premier of the country; cruelties and barbaric acts against the minorities have gone up and even they were being pressurized to change their religious beliefs [conversions],” he deplored.

“On June 24, 2023, personnel of India forces entered a mosque and stressed upon the Muslims to raise slogans in favour of J. Shari Ram and when they refused to do so, they were brutally tortured,” he said.

Syed Salahuddin said that according to UN High Commissioner’s report issued in 2022 revealed that how rights of minorities in India were snatched including those of Hindus, while others including Muslims, Christians and Sikhs were also among those whose rights were violated. He added that all Hindus excluding followers of BJP and RSS were feeling insecurity in the country.

He further said that situation of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir was too worse to imagine like Dr Bilal and Dr Nighat Shaheen were dismissed from the services because they presented correct reports of postmortem of innocent women who were targeted with immoral activities.

Syed Salahuddin maintained that Hizbul Mujahideen has never been involved in illegal activities and added this organization always faced the occupied forces which was totally in accordance with the manifesto of United Nations. He stressed upon the Biden administration to play its due role in resolving the Kashmir dispute.
