Biased elections will prove fatal for political democratic process, national security: Liaqat Baloch

ISLAMABAD, Dec 26 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and Chairman Central Election Cell of the party Liaqat Baloch has said that biased elections will prove fatal for political democratic process and national security.

Liaqat Baloch expressed these views while addressing electoral workers conventions in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi; Ummah unity Palestine Conference and electoral committees in NA-123 and NA-128 on Tuesday.

Liaqat Baloch said it is the decision of Jamaat-e-Islami that it would continue its movement for safeguard of Constitution, democracy and impartial elections in the country, adding they would actively participate in elections 2024.

He further said it is a big examination of voters to elect capable and honest leadership in general elections of 2024. In the past, he said that rigged elections brought crisis for the nation and the country and now in the same way, rigged elections will prove fatal for political democratic process and national security. It is the decision of Jamaat-e-Islami that they would continue their movement for safeguard of Constitution, democracy and impartial elections, he added.

Liaqat Baloch said that Jamaat-e-Islami is a single party which has put forth its manifesto and it has selected the candidates for taking part in the elections through a democratic consultative process. He noted that voters have single option of Jamaat-e-Islami for the stability of the country, implementation of political democratic Constitutional system, making Pakistan strong, Islamic and corruption-free. 

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, in-charge electoral cell Karachi Raja Arif Sultan briefed Liaqat Baloch that nomination papers of candidates at Karachi’s national and provincial constituencies have been submitted hundred percent.

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Ziauddin Ansari and secretary election cell Aamir Nisar Khan briefed Liaqat Baloch that nomination papers from 14 national constituencies and 30 provincial constituencies have been submitted.

He said that nominated candidates, women, youth and workers have started countrywide elections campaign and added Jamaat-e-Islami is a single option. Only Jamaat-e-Islami can take the country out of crisis, he added.
