Benazir Income Support Program has disbursed over 55 billion rupees among 2,234,859 flood affected families

ISLAMABAD, Sep 29 (SABAH): Benazir Income Support Program is providing financial assistance of Rs 25000 per family to the flood affected families across the country.

So far a total of Rs. 55,871,475 has been disbursed among 2,234,859 flood affected families of Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Gilgit Baltistan.

In Balochistan 168,003 flood affected families have received Rs.4,200,075,000. 1,562,651 affected families of Sindh have received Rs.39,066,275,000.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 229,133 families have received Rs 6,152,425,000 whereas 257,738 families of Punjab have received Rs 6,443,450,000. In Gilgit Baltistan 370 flood affected families have also received Rs  9,250,000.

Thursday, a total of 90,241 flood affected families have received financial assistance from different campsites established in flood hit areas.

A control room has been established at Benazir Income Support Pogramme headquarters to ensure smooth payments.
