Begum Samina Alvi inaugurates annual charity bazaar of PFOWA in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD, Nov 27 (SABAH): First Lady Begum Samina Alvi inaugurated the annual charity bazaar of Foreign Office Women’s Association in Islamabad on Saturday, which is aimed at generating funds for the assistance of underprivileged segments of the society.
Various embassies and high commissions have set up their stalls at the bazaar showcasing their culture. Patron-in-Chief PFOWA Mrs. Mehreen Qureshi welcomed Begum Samina Alvi on the occasion. Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood also addressed the ceremony.
The purpose of the Foreign Office Women Association (PFOWA) is to provide assistance to the deserving and financially weaker segments of the society.
In the charity bazaar, various embassies and high commissions have set up their stalls, due to which the multi-cultural effect of this festival is evident.
A large number of foreign ambassadors and their families are also visiting this festival. A large number of Foreign Ministry officers and media persons are also attending this bazaar.
