Banning praying for Palestine is height of cruelty: Farooq Rehmani

ISLAMABAD, Oct 22 (SABAH): Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League and senior Hurriyat Conference leader, in a statement on Sunday strongly condemned closing of Jamia Masjid Srinagar for the second Friday, house arresting Mirwaiz Umar Fsrooq and prohibiting all other Imams(prayer leaders), across J&K, praying for peace and safety from bombardment on the inhabitants of Gaza and the Occupied western part.

Farooq Rehmani said that it was highly condemnable to impose ban on praying for Palestine peace through out Jammu and Kashmir (Indian Occupied territory). He termed Modi policy with regard to Palestine as against the fundamental views of the 1st Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru and other leaders of the freedom movement, who in 1948 took a pro-Palestine stand in the UNSC and India voted against divining Palestine to carve out an illegal home for Jews in Palestine.

Farooq Rehmani emphasised that no power on Earth could ever exercise any authority to prevent the Muslims from praying for the oppressed Palestinians, Al Aqsa, Al Qudus Shareef and Jerusalem as a whole. He argued in favour of the Palestinian brothers who were being massacred by the racist Zionist government for their rightful cause of freedom and independence of Palestine. “The peace has been sabotaged in both–Kashmir and Palestine by India and Israel, with their colonial settler-policy and peace in these two regions has been harmed by the occupation forces”, he lamented.
