At least four martyred as suicide bomber targets security check post at North Waziristan


MIRANSHAH, May 24 (SABAH): At least four people, including three security personnel, were martyred in a blast that reportedly targeted Liaquat check post at North Waziristan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday.

Two others, namely Hawaldar Manzoor and policeman Shakir, were injured in the attack.

According to the police, the attack claimed the lives of two security personnel, one police officer and one citizen in Datta Khel tehsil of North Waziristan district.

The deceased and the injured were shifted to DHQ Miranshah Hospital. Initial reports state that a car with explosives crashed into the check post. Security personnel have cordoned off the area and started the search operation.

Deputy Commissioner Rehan Gul Khattak told media that three security officials, including a policeman and one civilian, embraced martyrdom. He said the suicide bomber blew himself up during routine frisking at a security point manned by several security men.
