At least 37 killed in overnight strikes in southern & central Gaza

GAZA, August 24 (SABAH): At least 37 Palestinians have been killed in an overnight surge in Israeli air strikes on southern and central Gaza, according to the enclave’s health ministry. Most of the casualties were concentrated in or around Khan Younis and included women and children.

According to “Middle East Eye”, in Khan Younis, 11 were killed in an air strike targeting a home in the al-Amal neighbourhood, while another 11 were killed in a separate strike on al-Katiba in central Khan Younis.

Footage verified by Al Jazeera’s Sanad fact-checking agency revealed bodies arriving at Khan Younis’s Nasser Hospital.

In Rafah, rescue teams recovered three bodies of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces, with many more victims remaining trapped under rubble.

In central Gaza, three people were killed and others injured in air strikes targeting the Ein Jalout Towers in the Nuseirat refugee camp.

In Deir el-Balah, an Israeli quadcopter drone opened fire on tents sheltering displaced people, killing one person and injuring five others.
