Assistant Commissioner of Jhang, Imran Jaffer gunned down allegedly by his cousins
CHINIOT/JHANG, Dec 05 (SABAH): Assistant Commissioner of Jhang, Imran Jaffer was gunned down allegedly by his cousins over a ‘sewerage line dispute’ in Chiniot district on Sunday.
Police said that AC Jhang, Imran Jaffer was killed in a gun attack. Police added that there was a dispute over the sewerage line between Imran Jaffer and his paternal cousins.
The assistant commissioner was allegedly gunned down by his cousins including Sohail.
Following the firing incident, the district police officer (DPO) rushed to the crime scene. He also visited Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Bhawana besides inspecting the crime scene. He expressed condolence to the family of slain Imran Jaffer and assured them of strict action against the culprits.
Reports quoting sources said that the slain assistant commissioner had gone to his native village in Chiniot district and got himself in a heated argument with his paternal cousins.
Angry relatives abruptly opened fire on him—killing him on the spot. Imran Jaffer had been posted as AC Jhang a few months back.
Reportedly, the dispute started when Imran’s relatives, verbally abused. His relatives opened fire in a fit of rage. The suspects, then, fled the scene immediately.
IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan took notice of the murder of Assistant Commissioner Jhang, Imran Jaffer in his native village. IG Punjab has sought report of the incident from RPO Faisalabad.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar took notice of the incident and summoned a report from the inspector general (IG) besides ordering to immediately arrest the accused.
