APHC needs to come clean over the amalgam’s latest statement: Saiyyed Abdullah Gilani
ISLAMABAD, March 19 (SABAH): Former convener of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) and the former representative of Qai’d Tehreek Azadi Shaheed Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Saiyyed Abdullah Gilani has said that All Parties Hurriyet Conference needs to come clean over the amalgam’s latest statement.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Saiyyed Abdullah Gilani said an extraordinary statement by the All Parties Hurriyet conference (APHC) calling for resolution of the Kashmir issue appeared in a local news agency on Tuesday. He further said that one is at one’s wits-end to see a radical policy shift in the statement issued by the APHC Spokesman Abdul Rasheed Minhas Advocate, The statement calls for sustained talks between India and Pakistan without even mentioning the Kashmiri people as the party to the issue. This omission of the very principle party to the Kashmir issue not only violates the constitution of APHC itself but also goes against the grain of long held and agreed upon position of the Kashmiri people that any resolution to the dispute without the participation of Kashmiri people in the process will not be acceptable.
Saiyyed Abdullah Gilani said that this statement where the APHC for unknown reasons chose to sideline the principle party while calling for a dialogue amounts to betrayal of trust and the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) owes an explanation to the people of Kashmir.
