APHC-AJK chapter holds protest demonstration to pay homage to the martyrs of Chotta Bazaar, Srinagar
ISLAMABAD, June 11 (SABAH): The All Parties Hurriyet Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter organized protest in front National press Club Islamabad on Saturday to pay homage to the martyrs of Chotta Bazaar, Srinagar, on their martyrdom anniversary, today. The protest was chaired by convener APHC AJK Mohammad Farooq Rehmani.
On this day in 1991, after an alleged clash with some unknown attackers at Zainakadal in the city, Indian troops had resorted to indiscriminate firing all the way from their camp at Syed Mansoor to Chotta Bazaar in the densely populated downtown area of Srinagar. At least 32 innocent Kashmiris were martyred and 22 others were injured in the brutal action of the troops.
APHC AJK strongly protested against defamatory comments about the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by spoke person of BJP.
Members of APHC called on the Pakistani government to strongly condemn the Indian authorities against disrespect to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The participants also chanted slogans against India’s oppressive state policy targeting Muslims for a long time and urged all Muslims across the world to be united against any oppression. The speakers called for a boycott of Indian products until the country abandons its anti-Muslim stance.
Addressing the protest, the Hurriyet AJK leaders strongly denounced the genocide of Kashmiris, destructions of property, harassment of people including women and children after barging into residential houses by Indian troops. They deplored that Indian troops have made the life of the people of IIOJK miserable. They said that the troops were snatching the life of innocent Kashmiris and the killing spree was going on unabated.
The speakers said by killing innocent youth, India cannot suppress the freedom sentiment of the Kashmiri people. They said the unrelenting military siege and corona lock-down have aggravated the humanitarian crisis in the occupied territory. They said that India must realize the fact that the delay in the resolution of the Kashmir dispute was leading New Delhi to destruction.
The APHC-AJK leaders expressed serious concern over the Indian atrocities on the people of IIOJK. They appealed to the world community to take cognizance of the grave human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian troops in the occupied territory and play role in the resolution of the Kashmir dispute by giving the Kashmiris their inalienable right to self-determination.
