Any ruler who received curse of heirs of missing persons is either in jail or deported from country: Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan
ISLAMABAD, Aug 30 (SABAH): Senior leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan has said that any ruler who received the curse of heirs of missing persons is either in jail or was deported from the country.
Senator Mushtaq expressed these views while addressing the protest camp of heirs of missing persons on the occasion of International Day against Enforced Disappearances in front of National Press Club (NPC), Islamabad here on Wednesday. He further said that those were responsible for the issue either those were generals or judges, they suffered.
He noted that enforced disappearances was not an issue pertaining to a few individuals but it is an issue of the entire nation. He questioned where were the human rights organisations and stressed upon the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Umar Ata Bandial to take suo moto notice of the issue.
In the protest camp, mothers, sisters, daughters, sons and relatives of missing persons under the leadership of Chairperson Defence of Human Rights Amina Masood Janjua participated. On this occasion, hundreds of Blach youths took out protest rally.
Addressing the protest camp, Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan said that struggle for releasing the missing persons was not only the responsibility of Eman Mazari, Tahira Abdullah, Amina Masood Janjua or affected families or of his own but it is responsibility of civil society, all social organisations, organisations of human rights, State, State institutions, political parties and the Parliament.
He stressed upon the need of releasing the missing persons and added all together should take up the voice for the miserable people. Jamaat-e-Islami senior leader stressed State institutions to help out the depressed masses while freeing the missing persons from the clutches of cruel people.
On this occasion, he also demanded of release of journalist Imran Riaz Khan and added having some political views is someone’s personal matter as he is an independent human being enjoying the right of having his own political views. He noted his enforced disappearance is violation of the Constitution and the law.
Senator Mushtaq Ahmed remarked, “If someone has committed a crime, an FIR should be registered against him and present him before the court. They should be punished in the light of law but enforced disappearances are not acceptable at all. It is an act of cruelty and against the stability of the State. Imran Riaz, Ali Wazir, Eman Mazari and all others should be release forthwith.”
