ISLAMABAD, Mar 02 (SABAH): Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has said that anti-Pakistan elements are spreading malicious rumors that Pakistan may default. He said that this is not only completely false but also belie the facts.
In a statement issued on twitter on Thursday, Ishaq Dar said that State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) forex reserves have been increasing and are almost US $ 1 billion higher than four weeks ago despite making all external due payments on time. He said that foreign commercial banks have started extending facilities to Pakistan.
Ishaq Dar said that our negotiations with International Monetary Fund (IMF) are about to conclude and we expect to sign Staff Level Agreement with IMF by next week. He said that all economic indicators are slowly moving in the right direction.
