Annual Convention of the Academic Scholarship Programme of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan held

LAHORE, Sep 21 (SABAH): Annual Convention of the Academic Scholarship Programme of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan was organized at the Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan’s head office. Chief guest of the ceremony was Secretary General Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Syed Waqas Anjum Jafri; meanwhile Vice Presidents Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Syed Ihsan Ullah Waqas, Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Ahmed Mangat, Regional President Lahore Engineer Hammad Rasheed, National Director Education Dr. Ahmed Jibran, head physio department CMH Lahore Dr. Qudsia Shamim, Alkhidmat scholars, professors, male and female students and people belonging to different walks of life attended the ceremony. During the ceremony prizes were given to position holder male and female students and scholarship certificates were awarded to the new scholarship holders.

During the convention the participant students also took oath for securing higher education and to play their role for the development of the country.

While addressing the ceremony Syed Waqas Anjum Jafri said that it is the basic right of every human to secure education but unfortunately 26.2 million children are unable to go to school in Pakistan. He said especially in higher education the students have to quit education incomplete due to lack of resources. He said that in this situation the Alkhidmat Academic Scholarship like programmes is a ray of hope for the male and female students. He said that Alkhidmat Foundation under this scholarship is providing educational scholarships to intelligent students without any discrimination of caste and colour.  

Syed Waqas Anjum Jafri said that intelligent and students facing financial difficulties are selected on merit for the scholarship to secure higher education, adding the currently without any discrimination of caste, colour, religion and political affiliation educational scholarships for securing higher education are being provided to 1174 male and female students from all provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Syed Waqas Anjum Jafri said that those who have completed education so far through Alkhidmat Academic Scholarship include 651 Doctors, 715 Engineers, 1194 BS-Honors/Masters, 260 Associate Engineers, 530 Graduation, and 2061 Intermediate. He said that so far scholarships worth Rs 536.1 million have been provided to 5411 intelligent male and female students for completing education.

Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Ahmed Mangat on the occasion said that along with other stakeholders the volunteers of Alkhidmat Foundation have crucial role in completion of the projects worth billions of rupees, adding that we have registered 27 thousand volunteers online and our target is to register 1 million volunteers.

Syed Ihsan Ullah Waqas said that we have to become helpful for others so that when you need help someone should be present for your help.
