An amount of Rs 650 miln collected for relief activities in Gaza & Palestine whereas relief items valuing Rs 150 miln distributed in Gaza: Muhammad Abdul Shakoor
RAWALPINDI, Oct 24 (SABAH): Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Muhammad Abdul Shakoor has said that an amount of Rs 650 million has been collected for relief activities in Gaza and Palestine whereas relief items valuing Rs 150 million has been distributed in Gaza. He further said that another Rs 500 million fund is also being spent in the relief operation.
Muhammad Abdul Shakoor expressed these views while addressing a press conference at Alkhidmat Complex along with Regional President Alkhidmat Punjab North Rizwan Ahmed. On this occasion, regional secretary general Nomair Hassan Madani, deputy secretary general Syed Amjad Hussain Shah, Hamid Athar Malik, Chaudhry Munir, central media relations officer Inamul Haq Awan and others were also present.
A large number of doctors and surgeons have been registered with Alkhidmat Foundation, Muhammad Abdul Shakoor said and added that as soon as the medical teams find a way to reach the affected areas, they will depart for Gaza. A number of doctors from across the world including Pakistan have gotten them registered with Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan for providing their services.
Muhammad Abdul Shakoor further noted that a meeting was held with Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik and added, “We have also handed over 13 trucks to NDMA to assist the affected people of Palestine.
While sharing the details, he noted that an amount of Rs 650 million has been collected for relief activities in Gaza and Palestine whereas relief items valuing Rs 150 million has been distributed in Gaza.
This luggage would be sent to Egypt as through Ripha border the aid assistance would reach to Gaza, Muhammad Abdus Shakoor said and added that medicines, food for children and women related items have been dispatched.
On this occasion a cheque of Rs 50 million was also given by Alkhidmat Foundation North Punjab to central vice president. Muhammad Abdul Shakoor said that there is a dangerous situation in Gaza at present of which even videos and pictures could not be seen.
