Amir Muqam dares Ali Amin Gundapur live TV debate on performance
PESHAWAR, Feb 21 (SABAH): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Muqam accepted Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s challenge for a public debate. “Ali Amin Gandapur can come on any TV channel and debate with me,” Amir Muqam said.
In a statement issued on Friday, Amir Muqam further asked Gandapur to appear in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and organize a live debate with the opposition leader regarding his performance.
The PML-N leader asked Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister to specify a time and date for the debate so that the truth and falsehoods could be laid bare before the public.
Amir Muqam emphasized that the debate would highlight the achievements of Maryam Nawaz Sharif in Punjab over the past year, and the performance of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over its 13-year tenure.
Whether Gandapur has any answer to 350 dams announced by his leader were not constructed in more than a decade, he questioned.
Amir Muqam also asked Gundapur to disclose actions taken against ministers involved in corruption in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and how many have been convicted.
Amir Muqam also opposed the plans to name Arbab Niaz cricket stadium after the person who is behind the May 9 attacks on state institutions, military installations, and martyrs’ memorials.
He further stated that the stadium would not be named after individuals who pushed Pakistan toward default, wrote letters to the IMF to block financial assistance, or provided tips to fix cricket matches for gambling purposes.
Amir Muqam condemned the move saying those who accepted illegal foreign funding from Israel and India, lobbied for anti-Pakistan resolutions abroad, or embezzled 190 million pounds of the nation’s wealth, asserting that their names would not be associated with the stadium. Amir Muqam further said that the stadium would not bear the name of anyone involved in facilitating terrorism or the repatriation and resettlement of terrorists.
