Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtayev announces launch of direct flights b/w Lahore-Tashkent next month

ISLAMABAD, Oct 24 (SABAH): The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan Alisher Tukhtayev met with Senator Irfanul Haque Siddiqui, Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, at his office on Thursday.

Seantor Irfan Siddiqui welcomed the newly appointed ambassador and extended best wishes for his tenure.

Senator Irfan Siddiqui acknowledged the invitation to witness, as an observer, the elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on October 27, 2024. He expressed enthusiasm about this significant event, highlighting the opportunity it presents for learning and understanding the big democratic activity. He thanked the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan for inviting the group of Senators to observe the elections.

During their discussions, both delegates exchanged interests regarding mutual trade. The ambassador announced the launch of direct flights between Lahore and Tashkent, which will be further extended to other main cities of Pakistan he added.

Senator Irfan Siddiqui praised this Uzbekistan’s initiative to commence flights between the two countries starting next month, emphasizing that this development will significantly enhance trade, tourism, and people to people interactions. He said that both the countries have huge opportunities in trade and culture which should be largely benefited. The meeting concluded with both delegates exchanging souvenirs.
