All needs of Election Commission of Pakistan will be fulfilled for holding elections: Murtaza Solangi

ISLAMABAD, August 29 (SABAH): Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi has said that all needs of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will be fulfilled for holding elections. He said that it is prerogative of Election Commission of Pakistan to announce date for general elections.

He said this while talking to the media outside ECP Headquarters in Islamabad on Tuesday. Murtaza Solangi said that whether the Election Commission holds elections in winter or summer season, tomorrow or day after tomorrow we will provide every kind of cooperation. Murtaza Solangi said that he has personal relationship with Member ECP Sindh Nisar Ahmed Durrani so he came to meet him.

The Minister said the government will extend its all-out cooperation to the commission in holding free, fair and transparent elections. Replying a question regarding independent coverage of the elections, Murtaza Solangi replied that we have taken oath under the constitution and Article 19 is also present in the constitution. Replying a question, Murtaza Solangi said that he had no information about the extension of the federal cabinet, adding that we have to hold election and what else is our duty. He said that the caretaker government will be responsible for fulfilling all the needs of the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Replying a question, Murtaza Solangi said that if the concerned parties are protesting over the issue of electricity bills then this question should be asked from them as the bills are of the month of July.
