All human, ethical, democratic values are being trampled just for sake of gaining power: Liaqat Baloch
LAHORE, June 1 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and Secretary General Milli Yakjehti Council (MYC), Liaqat Baloch has said that all human, ethical and democratic values were being trampled just for the sake of gaining power.
While addressing the central consultative meeting on Thursday, Liaqat Baloch said that religious leadership and parties needed to play their religious and national responsibility for eradicating the political, moral, cultural, social and national crisis while putting aside the perspective of power politics. He further said that all human, ethical and democratic values were being trampled just for the sake of gaining power.
“Milli Yakjehti Council’s central leadership will constitute a mechanism during the meeting of Majlis-e-Amla. Milli Yakjehti Council alongside activating itself needed to play its role in central, southern, northern Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan for developing religious harmony and reconciliation on political front,” he said.
He said that Milli Yakjehti Council will play its effective role for safeguarding the national unity and protection of the Islamic laws. In the central consultative meeting, Maulana Abdul Ghaffar, Mufti Marifat Shah, Mufti Gulzar Naeemi, Allama Arif Hussain, Syed Nasir Sherazi, Pir Safdar Gillani, Asad Abbas and others participated.
Headed by Liaqat Baloch, Milli Yakjehti Council endorsed the viewpoint that May 9 incidents were worrisome as well as against the national honour, adding the whole nation standing by the Pakistan Armed Forces for the sake of its honor, unity and national role.
Liaqat Baloch further said that staging protest was the political and constitutional right of each and every political and democratic party but keeping the protest peaceful also lies in their responsibilities. He added that those who orchestrated May 9 incidents must be punished while tender corner should be shown towards those who were found to be innocent.
Liaqat Baloch said that there is a need to focus on protection of basic human rights and misuse of law would indeed facilitate the real culprits. The meeting appealed to the national political leadership to sort out the issue of political crisis through political dialogue process.
