Alkhidmat Foundation’s high-level delegation participates in three-day expo held in Pak-China Friendship
ISLAMABAD, Aug 16 (SABAH): A high-level delegation of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan headed by Central Vice President Air Marshal (retd) Farooq Habib participated in three-day expo held in Pak-China Friendship Centre with the cooperation of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
Expo aimed at preparing a joint policy for exchange of experiments and concepts; use of state-of-the-arty technology and pre-emptive measures for tackling with the natural calamities.
Meantime, Deputy Chairman Senate Mirza Muhammad Afridi and Chairman NDMA, Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik paid a visit of stall established under the department of Disaster Management and paid tributes to Alkhidmat Foundation over its rescue, relief and rehabilitation and other welfare projects.
Students, civil and military officers and members of civil society large in number visited stall where team of Alkhidmat Foundation briefed them about performance of Disaster Management.
Speaking on the occasion, Air Marshal (retd) Farooq Habib stated that Pakistan is under the threat of natural calamities which is why there is need of putting in place planning by forging unity as well as harmony as a nation. He was of the view there is need of putting in efforts for minimizing rate of calamities as well as diffusing its impacts.
Alkhidmat’s Central Vice President said that the NDMA along with all stakeholders took first step of making a national plan that is well-coming and appreciable and added the three-day expo would prove to be an important milestone.
Air Marshal (retd) Farooq Habib stated that the entire world was under the influence of climate change and continued during the past, 180 untoward incidents occurred in Pakistan which demands building of a plan to deal with disasters.
