Alkhidmat Foundation will install seven water filtration plants to supply clean water with the support of Japan
LAHORE, Nov 13 (SABAH): Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan and the government of Japan signed an agreement to supply clean water to the citizens in the industrial areas of Pakistan and the ceremony in this regard was held at the Japanese Embassy in the federal capital.
Japanese Ambassador Wada Mitsuhiro and Central Vice President and Chairman Alkhidmat Wash Program Syed Ihsan Ullah Waqas signed the agreement, according to which the Japanese government will provide 19.5 million rupees to Alkhidmat Foundation to install seven water filtration plants in the cities of Faisalabad and Okara in Pakistan.
Speaking on this occasion, Japanese Ambassador Wada Mitsuhiro said that the Japanese government will continue welfare projects in the backward areas of Pakistan to raise the standard of living of the Pakistani people.
He said that the Japanese government will make the system more flexible and provide timely assistance for the welfare of the people in remote areas of Pakistan.
Vice President Alkhidmat Syed Ihsan Ullah Waqas thanked the Japanese ambassador and said that the project related to the supply of clean drinking water to the people of the industrial areas will be completed soon, adding seven water filtration plants will be installed in Faisalabad and Okara from which thousands of families will start to receive filtered water.
He further informed that last year Alkhidmat Foundation installed clean water projects at a cost of 31.2 crores. More than 5.6 million people benefit from the blessing of clean water every day through Alkhidmat Foundation’s clean water projects.
