Alkhidmat Foundation sponsoring 22,000 orphans across country: Hafiz Naeemur Rehman

KARACHI, April 5 (SABAH): More than 1,700 courageous orphans under Alkhidmat’s Karachi “Orphan Care Program” are being facilitated through shopping at city’s local shopping mall in view of soon approaching Eidul Fitr.

On Wednesday, in connection with Youme Yatama [orphans day], Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman and former capital of national cricket team Younas Khan visited shopping mall on the third day of shopping and met with the courageous orphan children and exchanged views with them regarding shopping.  Children as well as their mothers expressed their pleasure during shopping.

Talking on the occasion, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman stated that Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan was sponsoring 22,000 orphans at their homes across the country and added “we have changed the concept of orphanage.”

He further stated that 20 Aghosh Centres have been established across the country including Karachi where orphans were being provided with all facilities including boarding. In Karachi, he noted Aghosh centre was setup in Gulshan Mehmar where these children were being given facilities of quality education, mess, health and recreation.

On this occasion, Executive Director Rashid Qureshi, Director Community Services Qazi Syed Sadaruddin, Director Medical Services Dr Saqib Ansari and other office-bearers of Alkhidmat Foundation were present.

Alkhidmat Foundation after registration process of the orphans don’t leave them along but does their monitoring that either they were continuing their education or quitted while they were being sponsored. Shopping will be continued till Thursday. During this period, more than 1,700 children would be facilitated with shopping.

Every child has been given voucher of Rs 5,000 for the shopping purpose with which he can do shopping along with his mother.  Alkhidmat volunteers are present there to assist them in shopping. Motif behind shopping is to include them in the pleasures of eid and to keep them away from sufferings of inferiority complex.

On the occasion, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman further noted that these children were also being given medical facilities to keep them healthful and remarked “we are working on the projects which lies in the responsibilities of the state. Sponsorship of orphans is sunnah of Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) and route heading towards paradise.”

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi shared with the participants that shopping mall also gave discounts to these children. He appealed to the pious individuals to fully support Alkhidmat Foundation in connection with this project.

On the occasion, Younas Khan remarked, “I felt pleasure as well as surprise upon seeing this effort of Alkhidmat Foundation. It gathers the registered children under one roof and make them part of pleasures of Eid. Here children were independently and cheerfully doing shopping. Karachi is a biggest city of Pakistan and belongs to all segments. I appeal to people to support Alkhidmat regarding Youm-e-Yutama.”
