Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan organized an event to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with Palestinian students
LAHORE, April 2 (SABAH): Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan organized an event to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with Palestinian students. A mega event was arranged in this regard, with the chief guest being the President of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, Professor Dr. Hafeez ur Rehman. Other notable attendees included Vice President Air Marshal (R) Farooq Habib, Director of the Palestine Scholarship Program Dr. Saad Zafar, Vice-Chancellor of Riphah University Hassan Khan, Colonel Saif ur Rehman, and other officials of Alkhidmat Foundation, who celebrated Eid with Gaza’s students along with their families.
After the Eid prayer, a special feast was arranged for the distinguished guests, featuring both Palestinian and Pakistani dishes.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Hafeezur Rehman stated that after the destruction of universities and educational institutions in Gaza, the education of students there came to a halt. In response, Alkhidmat Foundation brought these students to Pakistan and provided them with scholarships, he added.
He said that Alkhidmat partnered with top universities across the country, including in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and Lahore, to ensure the provision of accommodation, food, medical care, and other essential needs for the students. So far, more than 250 medical and non-medical students have been brought to Pakistan, out of which 25 students have completed their medical education and returned to Gaza, he mentioned.
He emphasized that hosting Palestinian students is a matter of pride and honor for the Pakistani nation. Every university that Alkhidmat reached out to warmly welcomed the students and provided them with scholarships in collaboration with the foundation. During the Eid Day event,
the students were given Eidi (monetary gifts) and presents, and they celebrated the occasion in their traditional style. Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that Eid is a time of joy & including our Palestinian brothers and sisters in these celebrations is our moral and humanitarian duty.
