Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan held a training workshop at Sangota area of Swat for volunteers of Disaster Management Program
LAHORE, May 27 (SABAH): Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan held a training workshop at the Sangota area of Swat for the volunteers of the Disaster Management Program wherein office-bearers and volunteers of the Disaster Management from across the country participated.
Purpose of holding the workshop was to further train the volunteers by imparting them state-of-the-art skills of rescue and relief so that they can tackle any emergency.
In the training workshop, President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Dr. Hafeezur Rehman, Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Ijazullah Khan, National Director of Alkhidmat Disaster Management Program Fazal Mehmood and Program Manager Asif Jamal and 60 volunteers from across the country took part.
In the workshop, master trainers including Fahim Ahmed Khan, Haroonur Rasheed and AD Lashari while safeguarding themselves gave training of precautionary measures, rescue, camp management, rope management, flood management, first aid and basic life support courses.
In the workshop, the volunteers were given briefing through maps, multimedia and practical exercises as well.
Addressing on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that Disaster Management Program is our introduction and added that volunteers of Alkhidmat Foundation always prove vanguard in helping out their miserable brothers and sisters. He said thwarting the natural calamities was not possible by the human beings but their intensity and losses could be lessened through suitable training and precautionary steps.
He further said that Alkhidmat while taking practical steps for training of its volunteers, imparting them training of rescue and relief so that they could save precious lives in any untoward calamity or accident by keeping them safe as well.
On this occasion, National Director of Alkhidmat Disaster Management Program Fazal Mehmood said that Pakistan was badly affected by the climate changes occurring all across the globe and added in such a situation holding training workshop for volunteers was need of hour.
Under Alkhidmat Foundation’s Disaster Management Program, four-day in every region while one-day training workshops would be held in the districts during the ongoing year. During the ongoing year, 10 training sessions have held till now by the Alkhidmat Foundation wherein more than 250 individuals were given training. Alkhidmat Foundation has an aim of imparting training to more than 100,000 individuals. On the culmination of workshop, certificates and badges were distributed among the particpants.
