Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has done a meritorious work in the health department: Prof. Dr. Javed Akram

LAHORE, April 29 (SABAH): Under Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, a special seminar was conducted on theme of “Mehfooz Maan, Mehfooz Khandan Project” for inculcating awareness about needs and medical assistance provided to the pregnant women in the flood affected areas of the country.

On the occasion, provincial Minister for Health, Professor Dr Javed Akram and President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman were the guests of honor.

Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Muhammad Abdul Shakoor, Chairman Alkhidmat Health Foundation Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zahid Latif, General Secretary Dr. Usman Zafar, Vice Chairman Prof. Dr. Saeed Anwar, Director Diagnostic Network Dr. Asif, Vice Chairman Alkhidmat Foundation Prof. Dr. Umatullah Zareen, veteran doctors and men and women from circles of life took part in the seminar.

Shedding light on the services of health department of the Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, particularly in flood-stricken areas of the country, Chairman Alkhidmat Health Foundation Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zahid Latif, noted that over 32.5 million of population affected during flood in 2022. In the light of such a critical situation, Alkhidmat Foundation provided medical facilities to victims through medical campus, field hospitals, mobile health units and mobile ambulance vans.

He further said one of critical situation was of more than 650,000 pregnant women who had no proper facilities and Alkhidmat Foundation launched a project tilted Mehfooz Maan, Mehfooz Khandan Project” to ensure birth process of children as well as safeguarding health of the mothers. Up-till now, more than 33,000 pregnant women have been registered whereas more than 18,000 normal deliveries have undertaken. Other than this, Alkhidmat distributed delivery kits, baby kits and hygiene kits among the people.

More than 970,806 patients benefited from the medical campus and field hospitals of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, he revealed whereas more than 168,000 flood victims benefited from the medical facilities through the mobile health units. “We are still striving to improve planning and management in the departments and our whole team was working on this aspect,” he added.

Prof. Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that Alkhidmat Foundation kept on providing medical facilities in the flood affected areas even during the holy month of Ramazan and added it was striving to provide up to the mark health facilities to the masses across the country. He remarked, “We are doing all this for the good of masses and according to will of Almighty Allah.”

While paying tributes to the Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, provincial Minister for Health Prof. Dr. Javed Akram said that the organisation rendered unmatched sacrifices for the humanity and added provision of facilities in floods-hit areas was not a child play which was ensured by the volunteers through their courage and passion. “Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has done a meritorious work in the health department. Government will cooperate with Alkhidmat for bringing improvements in the health department,” he concluded.
