Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan continues medical assistance to thousands affected by recent catastrophic floods
LAHORE, Mar 29 (SABAH): Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan is continuing its medical assistance to the thousands of people affected from the recent catastrophic floods in parts of Pakistan during the holy month of Ramazan.
While disclosing details in connection with this, President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman stated that under ‘mehfooz maan, mehfooz khandan project’, pregnant women from flood-hit areas exceeding 28,000 have been registered till-date whereas cases exceeding 1,600 resolved through normal deliveries. Through Alkhidmat’s medical complex and field hospitals, he explained that over 950,000 patients benefited whereas more than 138,000 flood victims benefited from the medical facilities.
He stated that after completion of rescue and relief activities costing Rs 10 billion at present the work on rehabilitation and reconstruction was underway which include building and repairing of thousands of damaged homes; building and repairing of six schools, mosques and seminaries; permanent sponsorship of orphans aged between four to 12 years and provision of clean drinking water.
Dr. Hafeezur Rehman furthered that small farmers were also provided with wheat seed for sowing, fertilizers and agriculture pesticides, an effort of boosting production at national level as well as a kind of assistance of the growers.
