LAHORE, Dec 21 (SABAH): Alkhidmat Foundation provided gifts and packages to 3000 Christian families in different areas of Pakistan on their Christmas festival. Gifts and food packages were provided to 400 deserving Christian families in the ceremony held in Township Lahore.

Central Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Syed Ehsanullah Waqas, Zikrullah Mujahid, President Alkhidmat Lahore Engineer Ahmed Hammad, Christian leader Bishop MM Waqas, President of Minority Wing Dr. Shamshad Khan and prominent personalities from various fields participated on this occasion.

Speaking on this occasion, Central Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Syed Ehsanullah Waqas said that Alkhidmat Foundation is determined to create religious harmony and national unity in the country and is always striving for it.

Apart from the Muslim community, deserving Pakistani families belonging to different religions are provided with gifts and food packages on the occasion of their happiness and festivals, he said. He said that rations and gifts are provided to the Muslim community on the occasion of Ramadan and Eids, Diwali to the Hindu community and Christmas to the Christian community.  Our efforts are aimed at helping the deprived classes and spreading smiles on the faces of suffering humanity, he remarked.

Zikrullah Mujahid said that Alkhidmat Foundation is providing services across the country without discrimination of color, race and religion. He said our religion Islam also orders to provide assistance to the weaker sections without discrimination of religion, color and caste and it is also our social and moral duty. Pakistanis belonging to all religions have equal rights, he added.

Bishop MM Waqas, a Christian leader participating in the event, expressed his feelings and said, “We are grateful to Alkhidmat Foundation, which provided gifts and food packages to hundreds of families of the Christian community on the occasion of happiness.” This loving support of Alkhidmat makes us realize that we are not alone but our society cares about us, he concluded.
