Alkhidmat Foundation inaugurates a vocational center for women in Kalash Valley


LAHORE, Nov 14 (SABAH): Alkhidmat Foundation inaugurated a vocational center for women in Kalash Valley. Central Secretary General Syed Waqas Jafri, National Director Education Ahmad Jibran Baloch and Regional President Khalid Waqas made a three day visit of the districts of Chitral, Upper Dir and Lower Dir of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They reviewed welfare projects and participated in various events.

Speaking at the grand opening ceremony of Women Vocational Center Bumburet in the ancient civilizational valley of Kalash, Syed Waqas Jafri said that Kalash is a historical, cultural and tourist center where tourists from all over the world including Pakistan come. He said Alkhidmat Foundation is taking steps to teach sewing, embroidery and other skills to the local women here so that the women of the Kalash tribe can achieve economic self-sufficiency while maintaining their traditions and culture.

He said that the establishment of Women Vocational Center has been done for the welfare and economic stability of women so that the problems faced by the women of Kalash tribe can be solved and support can be provided in their development.

Syed Waqas Jafri said that Alkhidmat has established 100 vocational centers across Pakistan, from which a large number of women are benefiting, who are supporting their families through business and jobs after the courses. Elders of Kalash Valley thanked Alkhidmat Foundation for setting up the welfare project.
