Alkhidmat Foundation has the resolve of planting trees in whole country: Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman

LAHORE, June 10 (SABAH): The volunteers of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan have planted 25,000 more trees in Lahore under “smog free Lahore” campaign in second phase of mega plantation drive.

In this regard a program was organized at Mahmood Booti toll plaza at Ring Road Lahore, which was attended by President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman, Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Ahmed Mangat, Director General Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Punjab Tahir Wattoo, heads of the different universities, boys and girls students, volunteers and men and women belonging to different walks of life.

The purpose of organizing the program was to convince the people to plant more and more trees and provide healthy atmosphere while making it smog free. It is worth mentioning here that prior to this in first phase of the campaign 15,000 trees were planted near the Lahore Airport last month.

While addressing the ceremony Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that Alkhidmat Foundation has the resolve of planting trees in whole country. He said that even planting a single tree is a continuous charity, adding that we will have to make our country green. He said that in the campaign 1.5 million trees will be planted with the cooperation of Alkhidmat Foundation and PHA.

On the occasion, Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Ahmed Mangat said that while taking part in the campaign by the youth vigorously is a welcoming sign. He said that PHA has taken complete responsibility of looking after the trees planted by Alkhidmat Foundation. He said that Alkhidmat Foundation is continuing the awareness campaign and is playing its role in planting more and more trees. He said that the intensity of smog increases due to the shortage of smog and pollution decreases in result of planting trees.

Director General PHA Tahir Wattoo highly appreciated the services of Alkhidmat Foundation for the humanity. He said that the “smog free Lahore” like effort of Alkhidmat Foundation is appreciable. He said that to remain safe the effects of the climate change it is need of the hour. He appealed to the masses to take part in the campaign enthusiastically and play their role in improvement of the atmosphere. He said that the team of PHA is providing every possible cooperation to the Alkhidmat Foundation for making the campaign successful and the process of cooperation will remain continue in future also.
