Alkhidmat Foundation distributes wheel chairs among the disabled persons on the occasion of Int’l Day of Persons with Disabilities


LAHORE, Dec 03 (SABAH): Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan distributed wheel chairs among the disabled persons during different ceremonies held in country on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The purpose of organizing these programs was to create awareness among the people about the problems faced by disabled persons and to create awareness among the people about the resolution of these problems.

The central ceremony was held at Mansoora Multan Road, where 30 Wheel Chairs, 20 White Cane and over 150 gifts were distributed among the disabled persons.

While addressing the ceremony Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Dr. Mushtaq Mangat said that unfortunately there are 3.2 million disabled people present in Pakistan, out of whom majority of them is living backward areas and is deprived of basic treatment and wheel chairs facility. He said that for decreasing the difficulties of the disabled persons Alkhidmat Foundation distributes thousands of wheel chairs among the disabled persons every year under Social Welfare Program of Alkhidmat Foundation. Dr. Mushtaq Mangat said that so far Alkhidmat Foundation has distributed 20 thousand free of cost wheel chairs among the deserving persons.

The ceremony was attended by Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Amirul Azeem, President Alkhidmat Foundation Central Punjab Ikram l Haq Subhani, Emir Jamaat-e-Isalmi Lahore Zikrullah Mujahid, special children from Hamza Foundation and other social welfare organizations and a large number of people from different walks of life.
