Alkhidmat Foundation distributes Christmas gifts among 500 Christian families in Lahore
LAHORE, Dec 25 (SABAH): Social Services Program of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan organized a ceremony at Township area of Lahore on the occasion of Christmas on Saturday. During the ceremony Christmas gifts consisting of ration packs were distributed among the 500 Christian families.
The ceremony was chaired by Senior Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Syed Ahsan Ullah Waqas; meanwhile National Director Social Welfare Program Amir Mahmood Cheema, President Alkhidmat Foundation Lahore Engineer Ahmed Hammad Rasheed, Executive Director Alkhidmat Lahore Mughees Shahid Qurehsi, Manager Social Services Program Farhan Khalid, Christian social welfare personality Dr. Shamshad, local notables and a large number of people belonging to Christian community were also present on the occasion.
While addressing the ceremony Syed Ahsan Ullah Waqas said that this kind of ceremonies will promote the vigor for the serving the humanity, national unity and protection of the rights of the minorities. He said that Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan under social services program organizes different ceremonies every year in the country in connection with Christmas. He said that the purpose of organizing such ceremonies is to express solidarity with the Christian community and joint their happiness. Syed Ahsan Ullah Waqas said that celebrating happiness is the basic right of every human being, adding that we should join such people vigorously who are unable to celebrate happiness due to some reasons.
Syed Ahsan Ullah Waqas said that for making the process of distribution of gifts though planned manner the coupons were issued to the deserving people after conducting the survey of the area.
