Alkhidmat Foundation distributed tents, Tarpaulins, ration & cooked food costing Rs 40 million among the rain affectees of Balochistan: Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Mangat
QUETTA, August 17 (SABAH): Senior Vice President of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Mangat said that the foundation had distributed tents, tarpaulins, rations and cooked food worth Rs 40 million among people affected by recent torrential rains in Balochistan. “Relief work spearheaded by Alkhidmat Foundation is continue in almost all districts including Lasbela, Khuzdar, Quetta, Qila Saif Ullah and Qila Abdullah”, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Mangat added.
He admired cooperation from philanthropists who trusted them and donated millions of rupees; he also showed resolve to improve efficacy of their projects like provision of ambulance service throughout the province, free medical camps, relief work in areas affected by floods and rains and construction of a state-of-the-art hospital in Quetta.
He expressed these views during a press conference in Quetta Press Club. Provincial President Alkhidmat Foundation Engineer Jameel Ahmed Kurd, Vice President Ejaz Mehboob, Central Media In-charge Syed Shoaib Hashmi, Provincial Media in-charge Abdul Wali Khan Shakir were also present on the occasion. He further added that flash flood had wrecked havoc in Balochistan, thousands of homes had been annihilated, and 200 people embraced shahadat whereas dams, standing crops, cattle, roads as well as economy had altogether been destroyed. He added that during the hour of distress, the affected people needed to be assisted timely with good faith. “Along with social welfare institutions, the government and its institutions also have a heavy responsibility to help the victims in a timely manner. Unfortunately, even today, no one has reached for help in some areas. Due to the area and distance, poverty and backwardness of Balochistan, the relief work is also weak and lacking”, he maintained.
Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Mangat said that Alkhidmat Foundation provided ration to 3000 families and cooked food to 5000 families. Alkhidmat Foundation set up medical camps at 12 places and distributed 60 tents and 2000 tarpaulins in the affected areas. He said that we will soon provide ration to 1000 families in the affected areas, provide cooked food to 5000 families, will set up free medical camps in 20 areas, will distribute 100 tents and 2000 tarpaulins. Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Mangat said that the hospital equipped with latest facilities for the people of Balochistan is at final stages of construction in Quetta. He said that ambulance service is being run in different districts, looking after of orphans and widows and along with the help of the students the educational institutions are also being run. He said that all this is being done for securing the Blessings of the Almighty Allah, adding that we are working for the needy and helpless people with the help of philanthropists.
