Alkhidmat Foundation continuing mega plantation to check increasing environmental pollution across country

LAHORE, March 19 (SABAH): Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan is continuing mega plantation to check increasing environmental pollution across the country. Alkhidmat Foundation along with Chaoon Foundation would plant 10 lac samplings during this year.

Regarding mega plantation in Lahore and across the country, Alkhidmat Foundation and Chaoon Foundation’s office-bearers gave a press briefing in which Alkhidmat Foundation’s vice presidents Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Mangat, Zikrullah Mujahid, Secretary Lahore Dr. Ejaz Nazir, Chaoon Foundaion founder and Chairman Dr. Shahnaz, Board of Chairman University of Lahore Awais Raoof, Shoaib Hashmi, Sanan Akbar and others participated.

Dr. Mushtaq Mangat told Alkhidmat Foundation has set up urban forests on most of the places of Lahore, adding during this season, samplings would be planted in government schools, colleges and public places. He said Alkhidmat not only planting samplings but it is also ensuring their safety as well. He said, “we are determined to change garbage places into greenery.”

He further said that Lahore would be made smog free and green. He said awareness would be created among youth and students and added they would be made part of this drive. He said basic purpose of this drive is to persuade people to plant maximum samplings for making Lahore smog free.

Dr. Shahnaz on the occasion said that Chaoon Foundation is trying to revive this sense that we should care the nature while being together. She said this land is giving us much more so we should also care about it while playing our role in checking environmental pollution. She said smog increases when there is shortage of trees.

She said that trees would decrease pollution. She said, “We are determined to plant one crore samplings across the country in collaboration with Alkhidmat Foundation, adding that we shall actively participate in making Lahore smog free city.” The guests also planted samplings in office of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan when press briefing culminated.
