Alkhidmat Foundation continues construction work on 500 homes for flood victims
KARACHI, March 20 (SABAH): Alkhidmat Karachi is continuing construction work over 500 homes consisting of 200 yards per home in Jaffarabad, Balochistan, for the people affected by the recent heavy floods.
In the first phase, 140 homes would be handed over to the victims of floods. Executive Director Alkhidmat Karachi Rashid Qureshi, Director Disaster Management and Community Services Qazi Syed Sadaruddin, senior manager disaster management Sarfraz Sheikh and Manager IHR Farid Ahmed visited the project whereas local office-bearers were also in attendance on the occasion. They took stock of ongoing projects.
On the occasion, Rashid Qureshi said that in the housing project name after Syed Abul A’la al-Maududi, five blocks comprising 500 homes would be established which would be further categorized under the names of Mian Tufail Ahmed, Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Syed Munawar Hasan, Naimatullah Khan and Maulana Abdul Haq Baloch.
He further said that park, mosque, school and medical centre were part of the project and added that Alkhidmat Foundation was continuing construction of homes for the homeless victims of the floods while fulfilling its promise during the days of the floods.
Rashid Qureshi said that philanthropists were cooperating with Alkhidmat Foundation in this project and continued that organisation was undertaking this responsibility in accordance with the Will of Almighty Allah.
On the occasion, Director Disaster Management and Community Services Qazi Syed Sadaruddin, noted that Alkhidmat Foundation has been continuing its activities for the flood victims since the floods began.
He furthered that Alkhidmat Foundation helped out the flood victims to its fullest while making a history and added it was still continuing its efforts for providing roof to them. “We want to hand over homes to the 140 affected families after being fully constructed during the month of Ramazan so that they could celebrate eid at their new homes and appealed to the philanthropists to assist the victims during Ramazan while standing by Alkhidmat,” he added.
