Alkhidmat Foundation completes 27,000 clean drinking water projects with the cost of over Rs 1 billion in whole country: Prof. Dr. Hafeezur Rehman

RAWALPINDI, Sep 14 (SABAH): President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman has said that Alkhidmat Foundation established 27,000 water wells and water pumps across the country including Thar while expending money exceeding Rs 1 billion, due to which people are benefiting from the clean water.

He said that Alkhidmat Foundation with the cooperation of masses providing services to the people, adding that more than Rs 2 billion and 25 lac has been spent for looking after 27 thousand orphan children.  

Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held under the auspices of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan in connection with completion of water filtration plant at Railway Station Rawalpindi. The filtration plant of an international standard has the capacity to filter almost 2,4000 liter of water daily due to which more than 20,000 travelers and Railways employees are being provided with clean drinking water.

In the ceremony, Regional President Northern Punjab Rizwan Ahmed, DRO Pakistan Railway Shah Jehan, District President Chaudhry Munir Ahmed, Ateeq Ahmed Abbasi, Dr. Ishtiaq Irfan and other office-bearers addressed.

Addressing on the occasion, Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that Alkhidmat Foundation was serving in the health sector as with the budget of Rs 5 billion the hospitals are providing services to the masses. He said that millions of patients were benefiting from 305 ambulances and 700 diagnostic centres and added that Alkhidmat Razi Hospital Rawalpindi has become a model due to its services as more than 70,000 delivery cases were undertaken at the hospital.

In the recent flood of 2022, Alkhidmat Foundation provided its services with an amount of Rs 15 billion and added that through 8,000 affected farmers, wheat was cultivated at over 40,000 acer of land due to which this activity benefited these farmers while they also saved seeds for the next cultivation.

DRO Pakistan Railway Shah Jehan said that Alkhidmat Foundation fulfills its promises as on May 1,on the occasion of the distribution of the food packages among the Qullis of the Pakistan Railways, President Alkhidmat Foundation had promised to install the water filtration plant at the railway station, which has been completed today. He said that the provision of clean drinking water is a big relief for the passengers and railway employees.
