Alkhidmat Foundation arranged food packages, sehr & iftar and fitrana for 1.7 miln deserving families while spending Rs 1.16 biln during Ramazanul Mubarak

ISLAMABAD, May 11 (SABAH): Half yearly board meeting of Social Services Program of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan was held at the Alkhidmat Complex Lahore on Thursday. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Zikrullah Mujahid and was attended by National Director of Alkhdimat’s Social Services Program Amir Mehmood Cheema, regional presidents and regional directors.

Zikrullah Mujahid while informing about the details of social services extended during the current year’s Ramazanul Mubarak said that food packages among the 961,000 deserving families have been distributed, community sehr and iftar was arranged for 260,000 people; meanwhile over Rs 70 million were distributed among 470,000 deserving people in form of “fitrana”. 1.7 million people benefited from the services rendered by Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan during the Ramazanul Mubarak. Rs 1.16 billion charity money was spent on the services rendered by Alkhidamt Foundation Pakistan during the Ramazanul Mubarak.

Zikrullah Mujahid said that difficulties of the white collar class has been increased during the recent years due to coronavirus pandemic, worst kind of floods and deteriorating economic situation of the country and making arrangement of food like necessity has become a big challenge. He said that according to the report released by World Food Organization (WFO) for year 2022, Pakistan has been included in the top 10 countries facing the food shortage and inclusion of Pakistan in the food shortage countries is not less then a dilemma. He said that Pakistan is an agricultural country and food items are available in great numbers but the recent inflation has severely affected the purchasing power of the white collar class and poor people.

Zikrullah Mujahid said that arranging food packages and sehr & iftar for the deserving and white collar segments is the longstanding tradition of Alkhidmat Foundation so that the people who keep fast could be facilitated. He said that this work of Alkhidmat Foundation for the deserving people is worth appreciation and a gift, adding that we are thankful to all the philanthropists and volunteers, who brought happiness among in the lives of the hundreds and thousands of people. He said that Alkhidmat Foundation is working day and night through comprehensive planning and teamwork for bringing improvement in its system. The meeting also considered the proposal of installing “tnadoors” in whole country for provision of cheap “roti”.
