Ali Raza Syed condemns re-arrest of Ahsan Untoo in occupied Kashmir
BRUSSELS, June 29 (SABAH): Chair of Kashmir Council EU (KC-EU) Ali Raza Syed has condemned re-arrest of famous human rights activist Mohammad Ahsan Untoo in Srinagar, the capital of Indian illegal occupied Kashmir.
In a statement while reacting over the ruthless action of the Indian government, Ali Raza Syed said, Untoo was detained again in front of Srinagar jail despite of bail granted by the legal authorities.
He said, it is a severe violation of basic human rights. International human rights organizations including amnesty international and human rights watch should take notice of the satiation. All the human rights activities including Ahsan A Untoo and Khurram Parvez should be released immediately.
Chairman Kashmir Council EU also called upon the international community to press India to release all political prisoners including Yasin Maliik.
Ali Raza Syed also condemns constant Indian attempts for changing demographic situation of the occupied Kashmir through delimitations of seats of the local assembly, modification of domicile rules and division of territory of the Jammu and Kashmir.
He said, this is a shameful assault of the Modi government on the identity, fundamental rights of the people, and culture of Jammu and Kashmir.
Chair of KC-EU Ali Raza Syed said, Under the garb of this inherently ill-intentioned process, India had tried to carry out demographic engineering in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in a bid to convert Muslim majority constituencies into Hindu-majority ones. Through the sham ‘Delimitation’ exercise, it is obvious that India is aiming to speed up the process of demographic changes that it has already set in motion through measures such as doling out of millions of domicile certificates, offering of jobs, and putting up of land in Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir for sale to non-Kashmiris, in complete disregard to the international norms.
He said, Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally accepted disputed territory and according to the international rules, Indian government can not change demographic situation of this territory until resolution of the Kashmir conflict. He called upon the international community specially United Nation to stop the illegal demographic alterations in the occupied Kashmir.
