Afghan delegation headed by Afghan FM Amir Khan Muttaqi holds joint meeting with Sirajul Haq, Fazlur Rehman, other political leadership of Pakistan


ISLAMABAD, May 7 (SABAH): Afghan delegation headed by the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi held a joint meeting with the leaders of political parties of Pakistan during its visit. Minister for Commerce of Afghanistan was also present on the occasion.

Those who held meetings with the delegation include chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq, Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party’s Chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Awami National Party leader Aimal Wali Khan and other political leaders.

During the meeting, developments after the new government of Afghanistan came into existence were discussed. Mutual political and financial affairs between Pakistan and Afghanistan were discussed during the meeting.

According to statement issued by the spokesperson of the government of Afghanistan, all the participants of the meeting urged the governments as well as people of both the countries to come closer to each other. They also urged Afghanistan to provide free travel facilities to the people on both sides of border.

Political leadership of Pakistan expressed their best wishes for the Afghan government and the people of Afghanistan and also gave suggestions for the establishment of peace as well progress and prosperity in Afghanistan.

Political leadership assured Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Amir Khan Muttaqi of their full support in promoting people-to-people ties as well as trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan. On the occasion, Amir Khan Muttaqi gave away gifts to the political leadership of Pakistan.
