Adjournment of elections will further destroy people confidence: Liaqat Baloch


ISLAMABAD, Dec 14 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaqat Baloch has said that adjournment of elections will further destroy people confidence.

Liaqat Baloch expressed these views while addressing political electoral consultative meeting in Islamabad and inaugural campaign of electoral offices across the country of Jamaat-e-Islami Youth since December 22. He further said that free, fair and transparent elections are only a solution to country’s political, economic and foreign affairs related issues.

He further said that so-called democratic leadership does not have democracy, administrative structure even in themselves. He added the democratic leadership is dinting the holding of elections just for the sake of their own interests.

Ahead of elections, Liaqat Baloch further said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Muslim League and PTI are found to be busy in making promises with the establishment. He said that it is fact that establishment’s interferes in national politics and elections which is a supremacy doctrine and is fatal for national security. It is also fact, he said that those political parties which believe in Constitution, elections and democracy provide red carpet for the sake of their own interests while fulfilling designs of establishment.

After the passage of 76 years, he said the state institutions and national political leadership should demonstrate broadmindedness.

He said excuse of severity of weather and terrorism incidents for adjournment of elections will further destroy public confidence. He said running the country through power will further intensify political and economic crisis.

Liaqat Baloch further said Jamaat-e-Islami has initiated countrywide election campaign. National and provincial candidates have been announced, he said and added Islamic, welfare and revolutionary manifesto have also been made public. He said men and women are further intensifying election campaign while visiting homes of the people.

He said Jamaat-e-Islami’s struggle is basically an Islamic and prosperous Pakistan. “We are through our performance, public services, competent team convincing the voters that solution is only Jamaat-e-Islami. We are determined that constitution of Pakistan and supremacy of Quran and Sunnah would be safeguarded. People’s democratic and electoral rights would be protected at any cost,” he added.
