Accused involved in killing of university student Qasim Awan killed in police encounter

ISLAMBAD, July 14 (SABAH): The accused involved in the killing of university student Qasim Awan was killed on Thursday in a police encounter.

According to Inspector General Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the accused Muhsan Ali retaliated during the police raid along with his friend Imtiazullah wherein he was killed in retaliation of police. He said the accused used heavy weapons during the firing.

While addressing a press conference, the inspector general of police Islamabad said that the accused involved in killing a LUMS student Qasim Awan has been killed during the police encounter. The accused Mohsin Ali killed the student in F-9 Park on June 05 during the firing.

He further said that the said case is not finished now as other accused are yet to be arrested. The accused Mohsin Ali was involved in terror related incidents in Bhakar and Jhang.

He said that the student’s murder was a test case for the police. IG Islamabad police said that the efficient way operation was carried out by SP Sadar and his team under the supervision of DG Operations is appreciable.
