Accountability Court hearing money laundering case against PM Shehbaz, Hamza Shehbaz seeks reply from NAB on July 19 on acquittal applications
LAHORE, July 5 (SABAH): An accountability court of Lahore hearing a money laundering case against Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and his son former chief minister Punjab Muhammad Hamza Shehbaz Sharif while issuing notice to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) sought reply on the matter on July 19.
On Wednesday, accountability court judge Qamar-uz-Zaman conducted hearing case against Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz and others.
Their counsel Muhammad Amjad Pervaiz filed separate acquittal applications in which it was pointed out that the NAB made an unfounded reference of money laundering.
Through the applications, it was conveyed that the assets of Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz were in accordance with the law. All the details of their assets have been showed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
According to the lawyer, NAB found no evidence against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz and on these basis there were no chances of proving of the reference.
The lawyer further requested the court for acquittal of Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz from the said reference. Anwaar Hussain, representative of Shehbaz Sharif appeared before the accountability court on his behalf which Hamza Shehbaz could not appear before it due to backache. The court also accepted Hamza Shehbaz’s request for exemption from one day appearance.
