A gigantic public gathering to be held at Liaqat Bagh on Sep 1 & countrywide shutter down strike on Sep 2 against high raise in electricity bills: Sirajul Haq

ISLAMABAD, Aug 28 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has stated that a gigantic public gathering would be held at Liaqat Bagh on September 1 and countrywide shutter down strike would be observed on September 2 against the high raise in electricity bills.

Sirajul Haq expressed these views while addressing a press conference after meeting of Jamaat-e-Islami Youth Pakistan’s Central Executive Council here at Islamabad here on Monday. On this occasion, Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameerul Azim and other leaders were also present.

Sirajul Haq further stated that youths were escaping the country who once used to raise slogan Pakistan Zindabad. He noted that youths were the real power of the country and a guarantee to its prosperity as well as bright future. In the general elections, he stated that a large number of youths would be given tickets while the unemployed youths would be given interest-free loans besides allotting wastelands to them.

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami further noted that Pakistani youths proved their performance across the globe and added they would not leave them helpless. He stated that they were organizing the youths for a prosperous and an Islamic Pakistan and further deplored the parties who came into power did not deal youths of the country fairly while using them for their dirty politics.

Sirajul Haq stated the prevailing system of the country disappointed people and revealed that according to an international report, over 9 million youths were addicted to narcotics including male and female students of the universities. In Pakistan, he unfolded that over 700 individuals die due to addiction of narcotics, stating a number which does not match with those who are killed in terrorism and wars.

He questioned who is responsible for non-provision of standard education to the youths, adding there are no playgrounds for playing games. He deplored all the doors have been shut to the youth. “We would eradicate this current redundant system while organizing youths of the country,” he emphasized.

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan maintained that youths were being exploited for the sake of dirty politics of the main political parties and added no-one was worried about their future as they were being used as a political fuel. “Only future of children of political leaders and corrupt aristocracy is safe in this land of ours,” he deplored, and added these parties once and again were imposed on the country after changing loyalties. These economic terrorists make the lives of the masses miserable, he added.

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan stated that a huge public gathering would be held at Liaqat Bagh on September 1 and countrywide shutter down strike would be observed on September 2 against the high raise in electricity bills. He stressed upon the need of taking the facility of free of cost electricity back from all the officers indiscriminately.

Sirajul Haq remarked, “In wake of the economic terrorism, youths of the country have been deprived of their due rights. We would give majority of tickets to youths in local bodies polls and general elections. We would take the youths out of prevailing darkness and disappointment. Entire country is on the protest against the high raise in electricity prices.”
