Parliamentary Committee on National Security reiterates the nation’s resolve to eradicate terrorism in all its forms & manifestations from Pak

ISLAMABAD, March 18 (SABAH): The Parliamentary Committee on National Security has reiterated the nation’s resolve to eradicate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations from Pakistan.

Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif read out the declaration unanimously adopted by the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, which met in Islamabad on Tuesday with Speaker National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in the chair.

The committee stressed the need for a strategic and unified political resolve, combined with the full might of the state, to eliminate terrorism from the country.

The forum emphasized the immediate implementation of the National Action Plan and the Azm-e-Istehkam strategy to dismantle terror networks, logistical support systems, and the nexus between terrorism and crime.

The committee also expressed concerns regarding the growing misuse of social media platforms by terrorist groups to spread propaganda, recruit followers, and coordinate attacks. It called for urgent measures to prevent the misuse of digital platforms and stressed the importance of dismantling social media networks operated by terrorists.

Reiterating its firm resolve to support Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies, the committee acknowledged the sacrifices made by the security forces in defense of the motherland. It added that the nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces, police, FC, and intelligence agencies in the fight against terrorism.

The committee declared that no entity, individual, or group will be allowed to undermine Pakistan’s peace and stability in collusion with the enemies of the country.

While regretting the absence of some opposition members from the meeting, the committee affirmed its commitment to continuing the consultative process in the future.

The committee strongly condemned the recent incidents of terrorism and expressed solidarity with the affected families.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, members of the parliamentary committee, political leaders, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, key federal ministers, as well as senior officials from the military and intelligence agencies.
