Ambassadors of Iran, Japan & Sweden call on Sardar Ayaz Sadiq

ISLAMABAD, Jan 28 (SABAH): Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, emphasized the strong ties between Pakistan and Iran, rooted in shared Islamic values and people-to-people connections, during a meeting with Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri-Moghaddam at Parliament House, Islamabad, on 28th January 2025.

He highlighted the potential for bilateral cooperation, particularly in energy and trade, as vital for regional development and uplifting border communities. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stressed the importance of enhancing parliamentary contacts to foster stronger economic ties.

Ambassador Amiri-Moghaddam acknowledged the enduring relationship and expressed Iran’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with Pakistan, appreciating the Speaker’s role in advancing parliamentary relations for regional stability and prosperity.

Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, underscored the strong ties between Pakistan and Japan, founded on shared democratic values and people-to-people connections, during a meeting with the Japanese Ambassador, Akamatsu Suichi, at the Parliament House, Islamabad, on 28th January 2025. NA Speaker highlighted Pakistan’s potential in agriculture, trade, and its youth workforce, suggesting collaboration in advanced technological training. He stressed the importance of enhancing economic, trade, and parliamentary cooperation, emphasizing parliamentary diplomacy and exchanges to deepen bilateral relations. Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also pointed to opportunities in Pakistan’s agriculture sector and reaffirmed the Pakistani Parliament’s commitment to strengthening ties with Japan.

Ambassador Akamatsu Suichi recognized Pakistan’s potential, appreciated Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq’s proposals, and assured Japan’s support for Pakistan’s socio-economic development. He emphasized Pakistan’s role as a key partner in Japan’s South Asia outreach and expressed a commitment to enhancing cooperation in various sectors.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, underscored the potential for enhanced Pakistan-Sweden cooperation in economic, political, and social spheres during a meeting with the Swedish Ambassador, Ms. Alexandra Berg von Linde, at the Parliament House. He highlighted the importance of parliamentary exchanges and collaboration, noting that Pakistan could benefit from Sweden’s 600-year democratic experience.

Stressing the government’s focus on economic revival, the Speaker encouraged Swedish investors to explore opportunities in energy, Information Technology, Telecommunications, oil exploration, trade, and manufacturing, supported by Pakistan’s favorable investment policies. 

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq appreciated the contributions of Swedish companies to Pakistan’s economy and shared details of recent initiatives to make the National Assembly more responsive to public needs. Ambassador von Linde reaffirmed Sweden’s commitment to strengthening ties with Pakistan, citing the vast potential of its economy and advocating increased parliamentary engagement to foster bilateral relations. She commended the Speaker’s efforts to deepen cooperation between the two nations.
