Imran Khan convicted in 190 million pound Al Qadir Trust case based on irrefutable evidence: Attaullah Tarar
ISLAMABAD, Jan 22 (SABAH): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar Advocate has said that PTI founder Imran Khan has been convicted in 190 million pound Al Qadir Trust case based on irrefutable evidence.
In a televised message on Wednesday, Attaullah Tarar stated it is Pakistan’s biggest corruption case. He said that NCA confiscated this money and handed over to the government of Pakistan, adding that sealed envelop was brought in the cabinet, adding that Mirza Shahzad Akbar showed the money in official documents. He said that PTI founder should reply his corruption.
Attaullah Tarar said that Shahzad Akbar showed the 190 million pound in official documents of the asset recovery unit and informed that this money was confiscated from Malik Riaz and his family and has been handed over to Pakistan. He said that when this money was handed over to Pakistan it was paid in Supreme Court’s account in form of some other liability.
Attaullah Tarar said that husband and wife formed the trust, took 200 canal land and rings in form of bribery, adding that there is no bigger example of corruption then this.
He mentioned that co-accused Malik Riaz Hussain has also been declared an absconder in this case, and NAB is taking credible steps for his extradition, including contacting the UAE government.
He emphasized that there are evidences and cases against Malik Riaz and others, who should face the court.
The Information Minister stated that NAB functions in accordance with the law, without any bias. He said it is the first time NAB is taking action against such influential people after fulfilling all legal requirements. He said that NAB has clarified that anyone who will invest in Dubai project of Malik Riaz it will come in money laundering so the masses should not make investment in this project.
