40 people martyred & 60 injured in Israeli attack on refugee camp in Khan Yunis

GAZA, Sep 10 (SABAH): 40 people were martyred and 60 injured in an Israeli attack on al-Mawasi refugee camp in Khan Younis area of southern Gaza.

The civil defense agency official of Gaza, Mohammad Al-Maghir, has said that 60 injured people were taken out of the area and transferred to nearby hospitals. Tents of displaced people were targeted in Mawasi, Khan Yunis, resulting in our crews still working to evacuate 15 missing persons.

Local residents said that the tents of homeless people were targeted in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Yunis city, leaving huge craters.

Operations Director of Hamas’s Civil Defense Authority said that 40 Palestinians were killed and more than 60 injured in the attack, while many people are still buried under the rubble. Eyewitness told BBC that there were huge explosions in the area and flames could be seen rising in the sky.

Khalid Mahmood, a charity volunteer who lives near the site of the attack, said he and other volunteers rushed to help but were stunned by the extent of the destruction. Mahmood said the attacks left three craters seven meters deep. As a result, more than 20 tents were buried.

Meanwhile the number of martyrs has exceeded 41,000 in 339 days as a result of the massacre of innocent Palestinians by Israel in Gaza. According to Palestinian Ministry of Health there have been martyrs and injured in which the number of martyrs has exceeded 41 thousand.

According to the daily report of the Ministry of Health, on the 339th day of the war on the Gaza Strip, dozens of martyrs are still under the rubble and on the streets, and the ambulance staff could not be recovered. 40,988 Palestinians have been martyred and 94,825 injured in 338 days of aggression. Now this number has exceeded one thousand.
