‘Free Aafia’ slogan echoes outside Pak Embassy in US

WASHINGTON, April 01 (SABAH): “Free Aafia” slogan echoes outside Pak Embassy in United States of America (USA) to mark the 20th anniversary of the abduction of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui from Pakistani soil, and of her being turned over allegedly by the Pakistani agencies to their US counterparts to be trafficked, jailed and tortured.

They also demanded to free all innocent rendered by the Pakistani government.

As per details, Thursday, March 30, marked the 20th year of the abduction of a completely innocent Muslim woman, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, along with her underage children, from Pakistani soil by Pakistani agencies. Her children taken from her, she was then turned over to U.S. authorities, who were operating freely on Pakistani territory. Aafia was then jailed and severely tortured, her front teeth kicked out of her mouth, at various “black sites” (secret prisons) before being brought to the U.S. for a sham trial. She was convicted and sentenced to 86 years in U.S. prison.

An ad-hoc group of organizers and activists rallied outside the Pakistan Embassy in Washington, DC, to demand that government ‘finally’ take the preliminary first step of formally requesting Aafia’s return to her home country and freedom.

They said that Aafia Siddiqui should be repatriated back home and allowed to join her family.

Besides the US, civil society activists around the whole world have been demanding immediate release of the Pakistani mother Aafia Siddiqui.
