23 govt employees suspended in Occupied Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Sep 30 (SABAH): Taking cognisance of participation of government employees in election campaigning and related political activities, Occupied J&K Election Office suspended 23 officials besides disengaging six contractual and adhoc employees for violating Model Code of Control (MCC) guidelines.

An official spokesman in a statement issued here said that 20 employees had also been shifted from their incumbent offices to offices in other tehsils or districts against who there were complaints of acting in partisan way.

The election office said that a total of Rs 130 crore seizures had been made by different enforcement agencies in J&K during the ongoing assembly elections till now.

The Police Department has made the highest seizure of Rs 107.50 crore followed by CGST with Rs 9.88 crore, SGST and CT with Rs 8.03 crore, NCB with Rs 2.06 crore, Income Tax Department with Rs 87 lakh and the Excise Department with Rs 50 lakh.

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Pandurang Kondbarao Pole said that 7088 permissions had been given to different political parties and candidates.
