19th ACM chaired by Rector NUTECH, Lt Gen (retd) Moazzam Ejaz takes stock of implementation & progress of decisions of 18th ACM

ISLAMABAD, Dec 27 (SABAH): NUTECH 19th Academic Council Meeting (ACM), chaired by Rector NUTECH, Lt Gen (Retd) Moazzam Ejaz, was held on Dec 27, 2023.

In the meeting, Council was apprised of the implementation and progress of the decisions of 18th ACM. Pro-Rector Maj Gen Khalid Javed and all the council members including Registrar, Deans and HOD’s attended the meeting. Twenty five (25) agenda points related to different academic matters were presented before the ACM members.

Council accorded revision of BS CS Curriculum, BS AI Curriculum, BS SE Curriculum, BS Civil Engineering Curriculum. Approval for application of accreditation visit of BS CS along with the change of scope visit of BS CS and BS AI by NCEAC was sought by the members.

Following the response of students for the intake of Fall 2023, approval for increased intake of BS CS and BS AI was also given. The council also approved of launch of two new BS programs and two new MS programs. The BS programs include the BS Cyber Security (CY) and BS IT. The MS Programs include MS Artificial Intelligence (MS AI) and MS Software Engineering (MS SE). The Council also approved the curriculum of these four programs. The launch of the BS programs required the zero visit by NCEAC. Hence the approval for application of zero visit of BS IT by NCEAC was also given.

Furthermore, ACM also approved Revision on NUTECH Academic Standards and Deficiencies for Award of Bachelor Degrees for students wanting to improve their CGPA after completion of their degree requirements. Forum also approved different incentive packages for bright students seeking admission in NUTECH from the intake of Fall 2024. For the students’ wellbeing and fostering relations with the NUTECH alumni, Forum approved policies of NUTECH Alumni Association and NUTECH Students Council – NSC.

For International collaborations, different Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with National/ International Universities/ Organizations/ Institute/ Entities were approved for further proceedings. Members of the council presented the recommendations on different agenda points before the Council. The Council after due deliberation and minor modifications approved the agenda points.

In his closing remarks, Rector appreciated the efforts of all ACM members and Exam office for the continued efforts in exponential growth of NUTECH in a short span of five years.
